Introducing
Kori Ashton – an artist whose
paintings are unique, not only in style and size, but also in her
use of wooden canvases. She creates each piece with several different
forms of media and tools such as stone, glass,
sandpaper and newspaper.
Instead
of using
only brushes, Kori Ashton prefers sticks, spatulas,
and, at times, simply her hands. You can hire Kori
Ashton to create a unique piece of art for your office or home.
BIO:
Art dates back several generations in my family, but for more than
13 years, music was my art. However, in 2004 I left the professional
music scene to move back to Texas to be closer to my family and
finish my degree. Life off the road quickly sent me searching for
a way to vent my artistic side.
A year later while in
college, I met a professor named Ita
Borger-Boglin, a great artist! She encouraged me to start expressing
myself through any form of art. So, I started painting - my first
piece, entitled "My World," can be seen below. It's 8
foot tall by 4 foot wide.
It
has been just over two years now, and I have sold over 60 paintings
that can be found in private collections, restaurants and businesses
across the United States. Currently I am a junior working on my
degree in Elementary Ed. My goal is to teach Art and History to
5th & 6th graders.
Thanks for viewing my
art. Send me an email if you have any comments or questions.
